DOYLE'S LIGHT ENGINEERING WORKS A modified "STONEY CREEK" 'O' scale kit |

| I was fortunate to attend the 28th Narrow gauge Convention held in Portland, Oregon in September 2008. There I purchased "STONEY CREEK'S" latest kit called the "BLACKSMITHS SHOP". This kit was released at the convention, and I couldn't resist purchasing one. While I'm not a kit builder, and prefer to scratch build structures, this proved to be a really nice kit to build. I added the storage shed using some spare corrigated iron, a back wall window that I saved from the kit, plus my own scratch building supplies. I also changed the type of business from a blacksmith to "DOYLE'S LIGHT ENGINEERING COMPANY". The diorama base was built using a well weathered fence paling, which tied in with the building nicely. | |
