"ALBY'S BOATYARD" BUILDERS OF FINE FISHING BOATS SINCE 1892

|
| With the 8th Australian Narrow Gauge Convention
coming up in Easter 2007, it was time to build a diorama for the
competition. With a maximum area allowed of 1.0 meter by 1.0 meter
deep, the possibilities were endless. I have wanted to build a boat
construction yard for years and this seemed the right opportunity, so
off to the computer and the CAD program to firm up the many ideas I had and draw some
plans and templates.
Being such an important competition and one of world class models, many of them dioramas, I needed to push my skills to the limit and use as many different types of construction methods such as stone walls, wooden walls, timber wharfs etc. I hope you enjoy the results seen in the photographs below.
