Hi, my name is Laurie Green, and I live in
the small town of Sunbury,
just out of Melbourne, in the state of Victoria, in south eastern Australia.
My passions in the hobby of model railroading are the
‘Rio Grande Southern’
narrow gauge railroad that once existed in south western Colorado,
which I model in 'On3'. As well, I model mining and logging' in On30,
with it's Shays and Climax's struggling on steep grades with their loads of
logs destined for the saw mill, and especially building model structure
dioramas.
This passion has enabled me to meet many people who are now life long
friends and to travel to the United States, and especially to Colorado
to see, ride and touch the remains of the narrow gauge railroads
there. My greatest thrill was to ride in an original D.& R.G.W. caboose
over Cumbres Pass on a freight special, and to ride in an original
business car over the Durango & Silverton Railroad.
Over the 45 years that I have been involved in this hobby I have learnt
so much from so many people and I hope, through this web site, to pass
on some of this knowledge that I have acquired to you.
I have also been
fortunate to be awarded a National
Model Railroad Association Master Model
Railroader Award, for which I am very proud of.
Don't forget to visit
MY FRIENDS where you
will find 100's of photos of great models by excellent modellers like John
Hunter, Dan Pickard, Grant McAdam, Gavin Hince, Richard Grinyer, Peter
MacDonald & Steve Cullen.
I
hope you find this site full of interest, and if you have any comments,
suggestions or queries, or what to let me know about errors in this site, I
can be contacted through my email address below.
I welcome your input.
